The project, commissioned by the Municipality of Campo Grande in partnership with SEBRAE-MS and supported by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), aimed to create a new positioning strategy for the main street in downtown Campo Grande, the capital of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. Beyond defining the positioning, it was essential to establish new development vectors beyond the traditional commercial corridor, which was under threat as the pandemic advanced across Brazil. The project involved extensive public participation, engaging approximately 20,000 people over four months of work and generating 2,000 ideas. The outcome was a new concept for Rua 14 de Julho and the city’s central area, along with guidelines for public space activation, bringing renewed vitality to the region.
